Err_cert_authority_invalid Chrome Windows
Does it say NET::ERRCERTAUTHORITYINVALID? Download clash of hero. Chrome on windows use the system's ssl settings and I have succesfully used a self-signed cert as trusted on IE. Try importing it via IE: click on the lock and press Install certificate., next, select trusted root certification authority, next, finish. – NuTTyX Oct 23 '14 at 14:08.
I am trying to setup a development environment on my local PC. As the production website supports HTTPS (who does not these days?), I want to have this also on the localhost.
I thought it would be easy, but no.I have a XAMP installation, and setup all so I can access the website. However, whenever I go to any page on the site locally, I get the chrome warning:NET::ERRCERTAUTHORITYINVALIDI did follow the following thread to try and solve it:I also created the certificate with the correct Subject Alternative Name (SAN) section, based on this:After that, I generated the CER or P7B file and imported that into Chrome. I restarted both Apache and Chrome.I put the certificate in the Trusted Root Certificate Authorities. Somehow, Chrome decided however to place it in the Intermediate Root Certificate Authorities.I am using Chrome 61, I had the same in 60.So somehow I am unable to install a self signed certificate, and keep getting this warning which basically makes development on localhost impossible.I understand that this self-signing is not exactly trustworthy, but there must be a way to develop offline? It does not make sense that we have to build websites online from now on?Any ideas? I fixed my exactly same issue following.Issue seemed to be in the way the certificate was created. The code below is from the above site. #!/usr/bin/env bashmkdir /ssl/openssl genrsa -des3 -out /ssl/rootCA.key 2048openssl req -x509 -new -nodes -key /ssl/rootCA.key -sha256 -days 1024 -out /ssl/rootCA.pem#!/usr/bin/env bashsudo openssl req -new -sha256 -nodes -out server.csr -newkey rsa:2048 -keyout server.key -config.
Hi,I've bumped into this issue 2 weeks from now and can't get it fixed. Chrome/Iron reports NET::ERRCERTAUTHORITYINVALID on every SSL-protected website (google.)'Your connection is not privateAttackers might be trying to steal your information from play.google.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). NET::ERRCERTAUTHORITYINVALID'and IE reports this:Date/Time is set correctlyIE Settings reset attemptedDNS flushed/renewedServices reactivatedAny idea how to fix this other than clean reinstall? NET::ERRCERTAUTHORITYINVALID on every SSL-protected website (google.)'Your connection is not privateAttackers might be trying to steal your information from play.google.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). NET::ERRCERTAUTHORITYINVALID'I would like to ask are you using any other web browsers? Do they got the same issue?I found this guide, which used to resolve this issue for Google Chrome. But you may apply the same methods. For example, clean up all cache & cookies. The thing is to find out the scope of this issue to know if it's an issue with Internet Explorer only or it's on your computer.
In case you didn't resolve the issue yet.I would like to ask are you using any other web browsers? Do they got the same issue?I have seen this error issued by browsers when the security certificate has been deleted from the certificate store.

Typically you would expect similar notification when using an alternative web browser.Click on the icon adjacent to the address bar to see details about the certificate. Try this with a web page that you are able to access, and again on web pages where you are blocked by the browser. You might find that the problem occurs with only one certificate.
