Ive seen a few people ask how to go back to a previous version / patch / build of Europa Universalis 4. With the most recent update version 1.2 (the 'Ming' update) older saves are no longer compatable, and with each new update mods are usually un updated for sometime! Steam Roll Back Game Version 2017
I can roll back to the 2.0.4 version of the game and mod but I can't use my. TL;DR: Steam or developers need to allow rollbacks to previous.
Paradox use the steam beta system to keep certain versions of CK2 available (notably the last patch before sons of abraham, and the last patch before rajas of india) but steam doesn't have a specific feature for rolling back patches (hence why the beta system is used to acheive a similar effect), so only certain patches are available; usually just major ones.In future, you can get around this in one of two ways. You can disable automatic updates by right clicking on CK2 in the steam library going to properties, then updates, then selecting 'do not automatically update'. Some people have reported that this doesn't work for them though, and obviously you have to manually update it aswell which can be a pain in the arse. If you have plenty space on your hard drive, a second option is to simply find your CK2 folder and copy the whole thing somewhere else, allowing the one in your steam folder to update as normal, but allowing you to continue playing with mods after a patch.
