Update: I believe the cause of this was an issue with automatically downloading Addons when the game launched. Try removing all addons to fix.Whenever I launch Garrys Mod, it gets past the Facepunch loading screen just fine, but after that it freezes on the main menu screen, just before it loads the actual menu. I was able to play just fine about 2 months ago. My last time playing was January 1st, and the first time I attempted to play after that was about February 20th so I do not know when exactly this issue could have started. I've searched the internet for answers and two things I have done to try to fix it is verifying the cache and reinstalling the game.Someone has suggested verifying the cache of all Source games that I have then to restart steam, which I'm about to do now but I don't have high hopes for.

Anyway, I will gladly accept any help anyone has to offer. I have a the same problem but in my case it crash without errors. I was able to play it in the past, then I didn't play for a while so I unistalled almost all my games (exept for killing floor, don't starve, and hidden:source). I recently raise my ram from 2 to 4 GB and therefore I had to install Win 7 x64 (the steam folder was in a different partition).I checked the windows errors log and there was nothing at the time the game crashed. I also check into the gmod directory and I found this file (one for every time I tried running the game):hl2159crash201334T153752C0.mdmpWhat's that?
